Karachi: According to sources, China cutting continues in Karachi, KDA Karachi Development Authority seems hopeless as illegal constructions continue. The dominant land mafia is unstoppable. Municipal Minister Nasir Hussain Shah, DG KDA Dr. Saif, and KDA Director Land also appear helpless in front of the land mafia. Illegal mobile markets reopen at the parking spot in Surjani Town. While another unlicensed builder continues construction as he belongs to a political party.
As per the news, Karachi Development Authority Officials fail to comply with Supreme Court's recent orders to empty all encroachment lands. Many operations have been conducted, buildings and houses on illegally grabbed have been demolished, but still, Karachi is under the strong influence of Land Mafia. The KDA enforcement team came three times during construction on the government land, but the operation was stopped, and the property was returned to the builder. Hundreds of amenity plots in different areas of Karachi including North Nazimabad, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Korangi, and Gulistan-e-Jauhar have been deducted to smaller plots through China Cutting.
A public park known as Bagh-e-Korangi has been converted into a residential colony and no notices taken against it. The term China Cutting is a famous word used by real estate developers and realtors who often call these lands as “China Plots”. China cutting is an illegal way of carving out big amenity plots, community centers, government plots, parks or even cemeteries into smaller plots up to 100 yards or below each on sale. Karachi is facing immense trouble from Land mafia; it is known as the number one crime in the city of Karachi.
